We are seeking a part-time veterinarian for our dog and cat hospital. Minimum two to three years of experience required with good surgical and medical skills. 21-28 hour work week, including some evenings and up to two Saturday mornings per month.  If you enjoy working as part of a team, with loyal clientele and great staff, this is the place for you. We are also seeking two experienced veterinary technicians: one to work a minimum of 32 hours per week, another at least 24 hours per week. Job duties will include assisting in surgery, managing anesthesia, placing catheters, drawing blood, and dispensing medications.  Some evenings and every other Saturday, 8am-1pm, are required. We offer competitive pay and, after a 6-month probationary period, you will receive sick leave and vacation hours (for full-time).

    Laurie Schultz, DVM

    Dr. Laurie Schultz graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She has been practicing at Eldersburg Veterinary Hospital since 1989.  Dr. Schultz and her husband have four children. She thoroughly enjoys private practice especially dermatology and ophthalmology. Dr. Schultz raises chickens, Gotland sheep, has six cats, a dog and a rat, as pets.

  • Dr. Ruderman

    Jill Ruderman, DVM

    Dr. Ruderman graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  She served as a relief vet for some time and joined our practice in 2006.  Dr. Ruderman is married and has two children. She has a particular interest in cats and has fostered numerous orphaned kittens. She travels to show her cats and one of her cats even appeared in an ad. In this photo, she is holding Daisy.

    Dr. Ruderman has two Basset Hounds named ET and Cinnabun, four goats, and two sheep. She enjoys travel, especially for the cat shows.
  • Dr. Laura Owens

    Laura Owens, DVM

    Dr. Owens graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.  She interned at EVH prior to obtaining her license.  She worked for Central Carroll Animal Emergency and joined our practice part-time in 2014. In early 2016, Dr. Owens started full time with EVH and is concentrating on surgery.  Dr. Owens is an Eldersburg native and lives in Westminster with her husband and two sons.

  • Dr.Hynson

    Autumn Hynson, DVM

    Dr. Hynson graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She is the daughter of Dr. Laurie Schultz and started at EVH as a relief Veterinarian in 2017. She works in a mixed animal practice in Hershey, PA. We love to have her help our growing hospital, whenever she can.

  • Phyllis

    Phyllis McCrory, Office Manager

    Phyllis is our Office Manager and has been working at EVH since 2005.  She has worked in the veterinary business since 1987.  Before coming to EVH, she worked at an emergency vet hospital.  Phyllis and her husband have one son and two grandchildren.  
    Interests:
    Phyllis has two labs and has always had at least two dogs at home. Her motto is: "My home is not complete without my pets!" She feels blessed to go to work for the past 28 years and considers that her favorite hobby!

  • Kate

    Kate Cobb

    Kate has been working at EVH since 1998 as a Veterinary Technician and Receptionist. She has an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. Before coming to EVH, she worked as a preschool teacher. She is married and has two children.
    Interests:
    Kate has a dog and a cat and has also owned a guinea pig, fish, and frogs. She pet-sits for friends and family, likes crafting catnip mice, loves spending time with her kids, exercising, and yoga. She also teaches Sunday school.
  • Dawn

    Dawn Reaver

    Dawn has been working at EVH as a Veterinary Technician since 2001.  She is a certified Veterinary Assistant and received her certification at the Carroll Community College in 2000.  Dawn and her husband have two children.  
    Interests:
    Dawn has two dogs and also enjoys running, vacationing with family, cooking, camping, and outdoor activities.
  • Rhonda

    Rhonda Singley

    Rhonda has been working at EVH since 2005.  She is a Veterinary Technician who received her training on the job at EVH.  Before coming to EVH, she worked for the Federal Government.  Rhonda and her husband have two children and two grandchildren.
    Interests:
    Rhonda has two dogs and three cats. She loves traveling, going to concerts, reading, and hanging out with family and friends. In this photo, Rhonda is holding Rayna, a Springer Spaniel/Boston Terrier.
  • Christine Rico

    Christine Rico

    Chris started working at EVH in 2006 and has been a Veterinary Technician for over 30 years.  She has worked in primary care, emergency, and neurology specialties. She works at EVH only on Saturdays.
    Interests:
    Chris likes to go hiking with her three German Shepherds. She is also passionate about spaying and neutering feral cats and has adopted several stray cats of her own.

    Amy Smith

    Amy has been working at EVH as a Veterinary Technician since 2006. She was certified as a Veterinary Assistant at the Carroll Community College. She also works in the dairy industry. Amy and her husband have two children.
    Interests:
    Amy has two dogs, a cat, and nine dairy cows/heifers.

    Tracey Werner

    Tracey has been working at EVH as a Veterinary Technician and Receptionist since 2011, with a total of 10 years of experience as a Vet Tech.  She is married and was previously a stay-at-home mom with her three children. Tracey updates our Facebook page, which can be searched under "eldersburgvet" -- Please like us if you prefer to receive the latest hospital information via social media.
    Interests:
    Tracey has a Dogue de Bordeaux. Her hobbies include attending her children's numerous sporting activities, spending time with family and friends, shopping, and Pinterest. She especially enjoys working with large breed and difficult-to-handle dogs.

    April Hahn

    April has worked at EVH as a Veterinary Technician since 2011.  She was hired after completing an internship. She has also honed her skills at another vet hospital.  April has a beautiful baby girl and sometimes fosters pets in need of adoption.
    Interests:

    Rai Mikatavage

    Rai has been with EVH since 2014.  She edits the website, handles advertising needs, fills in as receptionist, helps coordinate IT needs of the hospital, and serves as payroll and business assistant to the owner.

    Jenna Welsh

    Jenna started working at EVH in 2014 as a Veterinary Technician.  She has previously worked as a Veterinary Assistant and also in law enforcement.  She is continuing her studies in human healthcare and works to fill in at EVH whenever she can, mainly on Saturdays.

    Interests:
    Jenna has two dogs, one cat, a Flemish Giant rabbit, hedgehog, and a bearded dragon. Her hobbies include volunteering with the Humane Society of Carroll County.

    Ivy Snediker

    Ivy started as an Intern at our hospital in 2014 and was hired in 2015 as a Veterinary Technician. Ivy is attending college and plans to study veterinary medicine.  She is holding Rondo in this photo.
    Interests:
    Ivy has a dog named Duke and has previously owned other dogs, a lizard, cat, and guinea pig.

    Ailene Muhlhauser

    We welcomed Ailene to EVH in May 2016.  She is a Registered Veterinary Technician with years of surgical experience. She has previously worked in emergency care and at another veterinary hospital.
    Interests:
    Ailene enjoys bird watching, hiking and biking. She has 2 dogs, a cat, 4 box turtles, chickens, geese, and ducks.

    Jennifer Radinsky

    Jenny started working at EVH in April 2017. She is a full time Veterinary Technician with several years of veterinary clinic experience. In this photo, she is holding her dog, Archie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
    Interests:
    Jenny has one dog named Archie and a frog named Fiona. Jenny enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
